ACAMS Carolinas Chapter April 2026 Virtual Event: Beacon Network: Leveraging Public-Private Partnerships

Chris Wong leads TRM Labs’ Beacon Network, a public-private disruption network focused on combating crypto-enabled crime. 

Previously, Chris spent more than a decade with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, ultimately serving as a Supervisory Special Agent in the FBI’s Virtual Assets Unit. Chris supported and led landmark cryptocurrency investigations, including co-leading the 2016 Bitfinex case, which resulted in the largest cryptocurrency seizure in U.S. history at the time. Chris also played a key role in the U.S. response to multiple high-profile DPRK cryptocurrency hacks, including the Axie Infinity Ronin Bridge hack, and broader efforts to disrupt North Korea’s illicit revenue generation through cryptocurrency. Beyond investigations, Chris has trained law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges in dozens of countries on blockchain investigations, helping build global capacity to investigate and prosecute crypto-enabled crime.
